    DEADWOOD, S.D. (8/13/08) -Over 250 Sturgis Rally goers joined an all-star roster of celebrities from film, television and the world of premium cigars for the first annual Legends Ride, a celebrity-charity event produced by the Legendary Buffalo Chip.

    DEADWOOD, S.D. – The “Fun Capital of South Dakota” is gearing up for another summer of rodeos, classic cars, music festivals and free concerts. The City of Deadwood and the Deadwood Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Bureau will host a whole year of historic fun because, after all, they have been partying since the 1800’s.

    There are thousands of towns in the American West that celebrate their heritage and culture, but Deadwood, SD, is among the elite. For its efforts, Deadwood is recognized by True West magazine as the #2 True Western Towns in its January/February 2008 issue, on newsstands January 15, 2008. Deadwood was also awarded the #7 True Western Town in 2007.

    For the third year, True West magazine honors the 10 True Western Towns in its January/February 2008 issue.

    DEADWOOD, S.D. – The smell of Cajun cuisine will fill the air while thousands of party goers fill the streets as Deadwood rolls out its annual Mardi Gras celebration January 31 through February 2, 2008. Mix mysterious masks, outrageous floats, a nighttime parade and Louisiana-like revelry and you’ll see why Deadwood’s Mardi Gras has become one of the largest celebrations in the entire Midwest.

    DEADWOOD, S.D. (12/10/2007) – The Days of ’76, one of the Black Hills’ premiere special events for more than eight decades, has once again taken the award for Medium Outdoor Rodeo of the Year at rodeo’s version of the Academy Awards in Las Vegas, NV Wednesday night.


  • RESTLESS HEART TO PLAY SURPRISE SHOW IN DEADWOOD SEPTEMBER 23
    DEADWOOD- One of the biggest country bands of the late 80’s and early 90’s will be playing a short notice concert at the Deadwood Pavilion on Sunday, September 23rd. Restless Heart, a group who has produced such hits as “I’ll Still Be Loving You”, “When She Cries”, “Tender Lie”, “Why Does It Have To Be (Wrong Or Right)”, “Bluest Eyes In Texas” and “Dancy’s Dream” will play the Deadwood date as they are passing through the area on their current tour.


  • WHY DRIVE? DABUS OFFERING RIDES TO THE DEADWOOD JAM
    DEADWOOD – A business out of Sturgis plans on making it a little easier for spectators to enjoy the 17th edition of the Deadwood Jam. DaBus will provide transportation from Sturgis and Spearfish to the Deadwood Jam on both Friday, September 14 and Saturday, September 15.

    Busses will begin running on Friday at 5:30pm from Lynn’s Dakota Mart in Sturgis and from Bob’s Family Pharmacy (formerly the Family Thrift Center parking lot) in Spearfish.
