The party just got a whole lot better in Deadwood during St. Patricks Day. The Deadwood Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Bureau will move the annual St. Patricks Day parade to the evening so people who want to enjoy the event have the opportunity to get off work and come for the party.
The 2006 festivities will run all weekend long this year with local businesses throughout town hosting their own parties on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights. The annual St. Patricks Day parade will take place at 7pm on Friday, March 17 right up historic Main Street. As usual, past and present Grand Marshalls will throw out 1,000 wooden dollars each valued at one dollar and redeemable at various locations throughout the City of Deadwood. The official Grand Marshall this year is Dr. Gary Welch. Along with the annual St. Patricks Day parade businesses throughout the City of Deadwood will offer outstanding food and drink specials to celebrate this fabulous Irish holiday. Everything from Irish Stew to green beer will be served throughout Deadwood all weekend long.
The Wyoming Pipe and Drum band will be performing in Deadwood Friday March 17th and Saturday March 18. On Friday, the band will be at the Deadwood elementary school between 1:00 pm and 2:15 pm. At 3:00 pm and 10:00 pm the band will be at the Mineral
